Iceland: Blue Lagoon
Into the Blue...{Photo by Taylor Leopold}The Blue Lagoon. The MUST stop in Iceland.When planning our trip to Iceland I KNEW that somehow we would need to fit in a stop to this geothermal spa. We considered making the stop at the Blue Lagoon as soon as we got off our flights to Iceland, as the airport is near, and it would be a nice way to begin a trip— but a friend that had been before had suggested maybe finishing our time in Iceland with our stop at this famous spa and Icelandic Landmark. So that's exactly what we did, it was perfect!After several days of driving and seeing the breathtaking sites of this magical country, Taylor and I enjoyed a relaxing night at The Blue Lagoon before our next flights and adventures. We soaked in the hot spa water, floated around sipping on wine, enjoyed an unbelievable dinner (completely gluten free for me), covered our faces with the healing clay masks, and enjoyed this last memory in Iceland together as the sun hovered over us. (We were there in June and the Sun pretty much stays up or at least on the horizon for 24 hours) Oh, and Taylor pulled out his camera and took some magical pictures!{Photo by Taylor Leopold}You can buy your tickets and make your reservations ahead of time, in fact, pre-booking is required. Hours vary through the year! You can find their hours HERE and book your tickets HERE! You'll have different options for the type of tickets to buy… if you're looking for the most affordable experience, definitely go with the "Comfort" tickets, you'll get a towel, a drink, access to both types of facemarks, and it's just worth it! Or go big with the premium or luxury tickets, no matter what, you will not regret it!!As mentioned earlier, we had dinner at their restaurant, LAVA. Also so worth it, especially my gluten free friends, they were so accommodating. They even brought me my own plate of Gluten Free Bread!! We tried every single course, and then hopped into the spa, floating our way into beyond content. We hadn't splurged too much on our whole trip, so this is where we chose to go big! It was the perfect way to finish our time in Iceland before hopping on our plane to our next stop. {Photo by Taylor Leopold}No matter what time of year, I'm sure you'll love experiencing the picturesque memories to be made at The Blue Lagoon in Iceland. Definitely place a visit to this Stunning country and this must visit geothermal spa on your travel wish list! {Photo by Taylor Leopold}
