Thanksgiving for Two - "Dates-giving!"
Thanksgiving for Two.
It's the time of the year that we reflect on all that we're thankful for, and my heart is so full. This time of year deserves a little time to slow down, reflect and share. And the other night, my dreamy guy and I created a mini Thanksgiving for just the two of us. {Menu included below} It was a moment to pause and share our thanks with one another, and enjoy a festive meal… talk about pre-gaming! Haha. I'm already full heading into tomorrow.I thought I'd share a few items from our menu from the other night and also share a few things I'm thankful for, because my heart is truly overflowing with gladness. This Guy. My Love, My Best Pal.Ohh man. Now I'm all teary eyed trying to find words to share my thankfulness for this sweet answer to prayer in my life. haha. I'm such a sap. For those of you who have followed my journey for a long while, you know that this area of my heart was one of great prayer… and I think patience! Almost going on two years, our love and friendship has grown in the best ways. I'm grateful for a man that wants to hear me, chase my heart, encourage and challenge me, and sit down and pray with me. I don't want to get too gushy here, and as much as I could keep going on and on, I'll pause here for now. But I will add, every adventure is better with him.My Family. Not only am I thankful for my family. But God's goodness and faithfulness multiplied in this area in several ways. This year, my sister had a baby! A sweet baby girl, Shay Noelle. Born August 12th. I recently got to spend a few days of pure quality time with this little, and she is full of joy. Only 3 months old and giggles and smiles. She's a great eater (her mama is amazing!) and she's even rolling over. It has also been a great joy to watch my sister and brother in law thrive in their new roles of mom and dad. Speaking of babies… one more is expected soon on Taylor's side! His sister is having baby #2 any day now! So much goodness! But not only am I thankful for these tiny additions, but I'm thankful to be loved so good by my own family, and by Taylor's too. And family isn't just those that I'm related to, but my friends as well. I have some of the greatest friends that feel like family, and they're an answer to many prayers too.My Work.Getting to live my life daily sharing with others what I'm so passionate about it such a gift, and I'm so grateful. To be able to stand at the edge of the ocean on a daily basis living in this sweet beach town in San Diego I have landed in.This reflection of thankfulness could have been a lot longer had I shared all that I shared with Taylor the other night at our "Dates-giving"/Thanksgiving for Two, but I figured this was a good little view into my world. As promised, our menu from the other night from our "Dates-giving"! You can use these recipes at any time, they're not just for Thanksgiving.
By the way, the Roasted Rosemary Butternut Squash, Sweet Potatoes, and Maple Brussel Sprouts make for GREAT leftovers, especially for a Breakfast Bowl the next morning. And today my heart is especially full!
